A New Adventure Beckons
Jul 15th
My friend and I have decided to get together and do something about our middle aged spread. It is so much easier to tackle this sort of thing with a pal. When you feel your resolve dissolving, they can give you a quick dig in the ribs to bring you back to your senses. It’s also much more fun to suffer if you have company. We have decided to start counting calories to lose weight and to join the gym to get fit. Our first port of call will, of course, be the internet. There we can do our research and figure out the various options and menus. A bit of planning will follow that and then it’s off to the supermarket to do some shopping, armed with our new found information and enthusiasm. After the groceries are taken care of the local gym can expect two new customers. I must say I am quite looking forward to the challenge.
Body and Soul
Jul 9th
We are made of body and soul. These two should work together for us to get the most of life. These two elements are also very important in fulfilling our goals. Hence, we must enrich both for it to work at its optimum.
Enriching our bodies would mean keeping our bodies healthy, fit and away from illnesses and diseases. It would also mean eating the right food, having a balanced diet and keeping a good amount of exercise. Recreational activities like badminton, soccer jet skiing, riding towable tube, banana boat riding, sky diving, and swimming would help the body go stronger.
At the same time, our souls should be enriched. We should be psychologically ready to face all the challenges that may come our way. In fact, it would be best if we socialize and talk to more people. The more we get along with several people, the more we will know ourselves and the more we know how to deal with different situations.
In Search of That Rush
Jul 8th
I needed a new intense activity, but I needed something new; I’d tried all of the typical commonplace sports. Then, I was introduced to the world of electric power scooters and I think that I’ve found my new obsession. My buddy Jimmy and I took a pair out onto the big trails out by my house. These trails consist of wide open spaces through mountains, but they aren’t very steep because they just travel through the base of the mountains. But the scenery is beautiful, and it’s a good place to bike or to try out something new like this. As we flew down the dirt paths, I felt the wind in my hair and I felt as if I was trying one of the coolest new things I had ever tried. I can remember learning to skateboard, as well as the first time I was on a jet ski, and I always get that same thrilling rush.
On My Cycling Nightmare
Jun 16th
Cycling has always been my favorite sport and I really enjoy cycling everyday for hours on both my pedal bike and my electric bike. It keeps me fit, healthy and active all day long. I never thought it could be a nightmare for me some day.
I generally go for cycling every morning with few of my buddies to the green unpopulated and isolated area on the outskirts of my town. As usual last Sunday also I did the same. I had been cycling for the last fifteen minutes when I realized that I was carrying a snake on the handle of my bicycle.
I have been a student of biology and studied reptiles as the main subject during my research. I knew it was a black mamba snake which is extremely poisonous. It was quite fortunate that I had the knowledge about that snake and I knew if I stop the bicycle or I make any movements the snake would bite me and I can die within few minutes.
This snake has the ability to sense the change in acceleration and can react very aggressively if one makes a lot of movements. I decided to keep on cycling at the same speed and wait for something to happen on its own. I did not even call my friends as the snake might react to the sound and would bite me. I cycled and cycled until I reached a pond. I cycled my way through inside the pond to a depth that water started touching snakes body. When the snake came in contact with water he lost the grip on my bicycle and swam away. I got a sigh of relief and made it a point to check my bicycle for snakes or other creatures before I ride it.
